Here's our latest fashion video in collaboration with the fine folks over at Nariman Fadakar of London. As usual we've leveraged the best of modern filmmaking technology with the RED Epic-M to deliver high speed 96 frames per second 5K stills and motion in one complete hybrid publishing package.

This time however we've utilised some fantastic vintage Russian Anamorphic lenses to give everything a lovely, soft look complete with the widely emulated but never matched signature flares.

As we're more than mindful of future proofing and presenting our client's image in the best light possible, this video was mastered at 4K digital cinema resolution and will be available in that format soon on Youtube.

Stay tuned for stills and more.

Whilst doing pickups for our feature film "Run Away With Me" Jay Wich, a friend and client of ours rang up asking if we were available to do a photo shoot for his clothing line "J.J Threads".

Since we had the Epic at hand for the weekend and managed to get all the shots we needed in a day it would be foolish not to use what I'd call without hyperbole a damn near dream camera.

So we grabbed Kye who plays Abraham, the protagonist in our film and cast Anna as his love interest. Mark Evans, our fantastic producer also brought our makeup artist Galatia Savva and A.C James Leckey from "Run Away With Me" onboard.

Based on a loose treatment about a brief love affair in the city we set off to do a day of guerilla shooting across London.

Enjoy :)

Now as a treat for those of you who would love to get your hands on the camera we have the next best thing for you...original R3D files from the camera!

DOWNLOAD LINK

In order to view and play around with the footage you need to download RedcineX which is available freely from www.red.com/support

One of the many great things about the Epic (which we'll go into later) is that it shoots at 5K resolution at up to 96 frames per second (as of 17/05/11, free firmware updates from RED means that the camera has added features over time)

This meant that we could extract stills from the shoot and use them as well with no compromise in terms of image quality. Here are a few examples. Note that the grain and softness was introduced in post production. Even at ISO1600 this camera produces super clean images.

Long time no update. What's the saying? No news is good news? I'll be better at posting, I promise.

Just came back from The Gear Factory who've provided us with a VERY generous RED 1 MX package to shoot the movie with. Couldn't be happier with those guys right now.

Meet Johnny and Markus:

Looks like they're one of the first people in the country to get an Epic M as well, the lucky bastards...if only we were shooting a few weeks later...

But anywhoo, check their website out...or better yet, give them a shout the next time you need an R1 MX, Epic, Alexa or *shudder* a DSLR package (hey, horses for courses ;) ).

A few lessons were learnt today. One is that an entire R1 MX shooting package with a magliner fits inside an Addison Lee cab, no trouble!
